A Monogamous (or monoamorous) relationship consists of two partners who agree not to be romantically or sexually involved with anyone else. Monogamous relationships include marriage and long-term committed relationships as well as many short-term relationships and dating.

Polyamorous
Polyamorous relationships consist of two or more people and can be very complex. There can be many levels in a polyamorous relationship. The most common types of long-term polyamorous relationships are polygyny (one man with multiple women), polyandry (one woman with multiple men) and group marriage (multiple people of any gender in a long-term committed relationship). "Open" relationships are a form of polyamorous relationship.
